GCC softball prepares for final stretch

With the 2010 Glendale softball season already coming close to its end, the GCC softball team is ready and prepared to make a run at the post-season once again.

With only a handful of games remaining in the regular season, the team is sitting at a 14-12 ACCAC record and a 28-22 overall record as The Voice went to print.

Kirsten Linert has continued to have a strong showing this season as she is posting an impressive 0.592 ERA in 130 innings pitched.

Jennifer Eberhardt contintinues to impress as she has put up 42 RBI’s and 29 runs.

Several of the Lady Gauchos have had solid performaces as well.

In order for the Gauchos to make a run at the post-season they will look to defeat national power Phoenix College, on Apr. 13, who is ranked #1 in the Division II NJCAA Softball poll.

Glendale defeated the Bears earlier in the year in a double header, 8-0 and 11-10.

In recent games, Glendale has appeared to be flexing their muscle as a conference contender as they have won 8 of their last 10 matches.

Glendale’s next home game is agains the Scottsdale Community College Artichokes.
