Featured Athletes: Jameel Yousiff and Colette Siroky
By Warren Brannoch
Glendale volleyball player Colette Siroky entered this season as a sophomore, playing the position of libero. Last season as a freshman, Siroky helped lead the Gauchos to the National Division two Volleyball tournament, coming up just shy of winning it all, finishing in third. Even though this season didn’t go as planned for the Gauchos, as they missed out on the opportunity to make it back to nationals, Siroky led the team with 26 aces on the year, and a total of 394 digs on the year. If Glendale head coach, Lisa Stuck ever needed someone to step it up for the team and get a serious game altering serve across the net, Siroky was the one you could count on. This season, Siroky led Glendale to an overall record of (13-13) and an ACCAC Conference record of (7-9) on the year.
